In Niccolo Machiavelli's Famous book the prince he discusses numerous different way in which a prince should rule. One thing he said specifically was whether or not it was better not be loved or feared. “Returning to the question of being feared or loved, I come to the conclusion that, men loving according to their own will and fearing according to that of the prince, a wise prince should establish himself on that which is in his own control and not in that of others; he must endeavor only to avoid hatred, as is noted.” (Machiavelli). This can connect to everyday music because it is a constant struggle for artists to create an image for themselves. Not every individual looks for the same things in artists. For example, Miley Cyrus has to deal with the repercussions of what she does out in society. Many people judge her and dislike her for it but then again she is lovde by many others aswell. As an artists she must learn to balance how she is liked in society just like a prince would.
