The United States Declaration of Independence states that each and every human being that resides in the prosperous country has the right to,  “Life Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness” For woman composers however, that was not that case, Women were never allowed to display their compositions as men were. Even to this day female composers are still not looked at the same way male composers all. I find it atrocious that in such a progressive country where woman have the right to fight in war, be a police officer, and be doctors, professions that contain a vast amount of power and responsibility, still do not have the respect of their male counterparts to compose music
