During Week 3, we were directed to talk about three special writers: Billy Bryson, Paul Theroux, and Jeff Greenwald.

The first person I read about was Billy Bryson. Unlike Tim Cahill(adventure traveler), he was pinned as an amusing travel writer. Bryson has a unique, entertaining writing style that didn't go unnoticed. He had a sense of humor that didn't occur in every paragraph, per say, but throughout the entire work. When he became a travel writer, it wasn't the traveling he was interested in, but the money; he couldn't really afford to go traveling anyway. He didn't set out to become a travel writer, in fact, he never even imagined it possible. Some could say traveling found him. One interesting quote I found was on page 132. Bryson states: "There's a natural human instinct: Whatever experience you have, as soon as there's something amazing to you, you want to find another human being to share with." This, I find true. Whenever I arrive home from a vacation/trip, I can't wait to tell everyone about it!

The next person I read about was Paul Theroux. Theroux became the basis for many beginning writers. He also has a distinctive type of writing.  Some think he can be a bit too frank at times, yet there are some that find him somewhat humorous. Nonetheless, he sparks a bit of controversy. He comes alive through his travel writings and it is no secret he loves what he does. Referring back to the reflection on Week 1, he also tells us about his reasons for travel.

Last but not least, Jeff Greenwald. Now, I wasn't able to read much about him (given the restriction limit on google-books, as well as on Theroux) but I'm sure I know the jist of who Greenwald is. Traveling was not new for Greenwald, as,he started traveling at a young age. Science-fiction films sparked traveling as an interest for this writer. He had always loved writing so it was not very hard to combine the two. As well as Theroux, he inspired many to travel and/or write.
