While the undergraduate research I have been involved in is not quite as 'adventurous' as that in the cartoon above, it has definitely been exciting and rewarding. At the end of my junior year, I had the honor of being involved in neuroscience as well as cancer research in the tissue culture lab run by Dr. Annemarie Bettica. As someone who did not enjoy working in a lab and definitely did not want that as a career, I was surprisingly hooked! Since then I have worked on a few projects with Dr. Bettica, presented to conferences and been working on a publication together.
