For the past three years, I have acted as a mentor in Manhattanville's Mentor Program. This role has a lot of responsibilities. In a nutshell, I act as a guide, resource, and role model for a group of about 15 college freshmen. It is my job to recognize what issues first year students may be having and address those issues in some way. At times, I work one-on-one with students and we discuss all matter of things. At other times, I can best address the needs of the students by offering and planning a program. In my three years as a mentor, I have offered all kinds of programs like Registration Help Desk, Painting for Stress Relief, School Spirit Day, and more. It is my hope that the counsel and programming I offer helps to ease the college transition for the students I work with.

Other responsibilities include: holding weekly office hours, sending weekly emails with updates from the Mentor Program, submitting logs of involvement, developing a professional relationship with associated professors, maintaining a high GPA, and acting as a constant resource and role model.

Below, you'll find pictures of the program I planned to enhance school spirit. Together with another mentor, we bought face paint and posters and attended a soccer game on campus with several first year students.
