I am submitting my fifth-year ReAppointment Portfolio that consists of my curriculum vitae and a description of my work in academia showcasing my teaching, scholarship, service and professional development to Manhattanville College. I was hired by the Department of Foundations of Education and Special Subjects in 2003, where I taught as an adjunct professor advancing over the years to my current position of Assistant Professor in 2015.

To highlight some of my current work, I have been invited to present about the topic of both physical education and health education for both the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance as well as the New Jersey Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. My presentations have focused primarily on physical education and health education content and application for K-12 teachers. These conference experiences were intellectually stimulating, created wonderful networking opportunities and provided the chance to learn the newest trends, hot button topics and research in the field to enhance my teaching.

For service to Manhattanville, I have built and revised the Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T) program in Health Education curriculum over the past two years. This degree program was accepted by the New York Department of Education in late Spring 2019. First-time classes are being offered in the Fall of 2019. Besides, developing and attending to this new degree program, I have worked to market and strategize its dissemination and its many moving parts. I have also coordinated the Health and Wellness Certificate program as well as built and taught health workshops. Presently, I serve on the School of Education Technology Committee and Awards Committee and on the college-wide Academic Policy Committee. I will begin serving on the Academic Integrity Committee in the Fall of 2019. In the past, I have served on the college-wide Library Committee and was nominated for the college-wide Library, Compensation and Travel Committees. Additionally, I have mentored physical education and health education adjuncts and physical education and health education students, coordinated a health conference at Manhattanville College, held review sessions for both the Physical Education and Health Education Content Specialty Test, coached students successfully through the edTPA process, helped out with physical education professional development nights, proctored and graded comprehensive exams and managed a Health Education information bulletin board.

As for service to my profession, I have been elected as the current President-Elect for the Health Section of New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. I was invited to serve as a state representative for the New York State Health Education Action Committee for New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance and elected Southeastern Zone Health Education Section Representative for New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.

As for my own scholarship, Fitness Fun with a Nutritional Twist was published in Strategies, in the May/June 2018 issue. This article describes fitness games, activities and sports that integrate nutrition ideas into fitness movement. I have three articles under review, Enhancing Health Education: There's An Instructional Strategy For That!, Ice Skating (Figure Skating) 101- A Lifetime Fitness Activity and Modifying Physical Education for Students with Differing Disabilities and two works in progress, The Impact of Physical Education Teachers' Efforts to Address Childhood Obesity and Sharing Solutions to Increase Physical Activity in Saudi Arabia.

It has been my absolute pleasure teaching at Manhattanville College and being part of the School of Education; it has been enjoyable on many levels. I have also thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the larger Manhattanville community and look forward to continuing to be a part of it. I want to take this opportunity to thank President Geisler, Provost Feroe and the Status committee for taking the time to review my work.

Respectfully submitted,

Kristie Lynch, Ed.D.

Assistant Professor of Physical Education and Sport Pedagogy

Department of Foundations of Education and Special Subjects
