Copy a Course from One Semester to Another 

  

 

  1. Sign in to Blackboard and select the course that you wish to transfer content from.
  2. Scroll down to the Course Management section to the left side of your screen.
  3. Under Control Panel, select the tab Packages and Utilities.
  4. Under Packages and Utilities, select the tab Course Copy.
  5. Click on Select Copy Type and go to the drop box and select Copy Course Materials into an Existing Course.
  6. Go to the section, Select Copy Options and where it says ‘Destination Course ID,’ type in the course you wish to transfer content to in this format:  Year, _FA or SP,_Course Number_Section Number.            

                           For example: 15FA_FYP_1003_01

    Then click Browse to confirm the correct section.

  7. After this section, there are a series of check boxes that list, for example,  Syllabus, Announcements, etc. You will then select the boxes based on what content you want to transfer over to this new course. If you want everything from the Syllabus to the Tests, just click Content Areas.

    n.b. - When copying Assignments, also check the Grade Center box, as the two areas are associated.

  8. The section File Attachments allows you to copy over all file attachments and links from the other course. Select the appropriate option.
  9. For the Enrollments section DO NOT check the box. Leave it unchecked.
  10. Hit submit and the content will have copied over to the new course.
