Brandon Florich is an aspiring multi-instrumentalist and future educator from Yonkers, New York whose local and touring performances have been heard throughout the eastern states. While at Manhattanville, Brandon focused his study on Tuba in addition to Bass, and Jazz Piano.

His formally study began senior year of high school after meeting Andrew Seligson who generously offered his time as a mentor. While studying Tuba under Mr. Seligson, Brandon was guided towards pursing a degree in Music Education.

During his time at Manhattanville, Brandon has contributed his artistry through his involvement in the Community’s Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Chorus, and several chamber orchestras whilst have the pleasure of performing each year at the college’s undergraduate baccalaureate ceremony. In addition to having played trombone in the Community’s Big Jazz Band, he has also taken on the role of bass and later drums in the school’s Small Jazz Band. Brandon has steadily performed alongside a diverse choice of musicians on and off campus in hopes of immersing himself in the culture.

Brandon’s concentration in Tuba while studying with Bruce Eidem at Manhattanville College has impassioned him to embody the role of the bass instrument in any context presented. In addition to his classical instruction, he’s applied his jazz study of the tuba to both upright and fretless electric bass, extending his musicality through various styles of jazz, hip-hop, R&B, punk, rock, and pop. Likewise, while studying Jazz piano under Charles Blenzig, Brandon has not only developed technical skill while advancing his musical understanding but has been inspirited to continue his study of the instrument. In 2015, his musicianship was acknowledged after being awarded the Elliot Magaziner Performance Scholarship further motivating his musical endeavors.

After graduation, Brandon will complete his Master’s Degree at Manhattanville College and intends to ultimately pursue a Doctorate Degree as he furthers his musicianship while relating to those around him through music.
